Active + Psychologist

Active+ is the largest New Zealand owned supplier of rehabilitation services in New Zealand, with over 1,500 health providers across a wide range of disciplines delivering service across New Zealand. We’ve been in business since 1990 and are owned by Southern Cross Healthcare New Zealand.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Are you a compassionate and skilled Psychologist ready to make a genuine, real-world impact? Join Active+ in a flexible full-time or part-time role where you’ll deliver high-quality mental health services across a range of funded pathways, including ACC, Te Whatu Ora, MBIE, NZ Police, and other partner organisations. Working both independently and within integrated, multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams, you’ll support clients through their recovery journey, building strong, trusted relationships with clients and whānau and developing culturally responsive, person-centred clinical plans that reflect each individual’s environment, goals, and needs. You’ll be supported with on-the-job training, clinical supervision, and a collaborative team culture to help you thrive and continue to grow.

In this role, you’ll successfully manage a varied clinical caseload, balancing evidence-based clinical practice with funder requirements and performance expectations, while upholding Active+’s high standards of care, professionalism, and confidentiality. You’ll engage confidently with stakeholders and case managers, represent Active+ positively in all communications, and maintain strong connections with relevant professional bodies and insurers. You’ll also contribute to a safe, ethical workplace by adhering to Active+ policies, information systems, and health and safety practices. This role covers the Greater Wellington and Central Manawatū regions, so a willingness to travel is essential - offering variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference across communities.
