Southern Cross Central Lakes Hospital Queenstown

Southern Cross Central Lakes Hospital (SCCLH) received its first patients in January 2022 and has steadily developed a broad range of specialty surgery covering both private and public patients. The joint venture ownership between Southern Cross Healthcare and Central Lakes Trust ensures leading clinical service delivery whilst maintaining a genuine focus to provide healthcare services closer to home for general population of Central Otago.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Southern Cross Central Lakes Hospital in Queenstown is excited to offer fantastic opportunities for passionate and clinically confident Registered Nurses to join our Peri‑Anaesthesia team (Admissions, PACU, Ward and Day Stay) on a permanent basis. With a variety of part‑time and full‑time roles available, we’re keen to find the right fit to suit your lifestyle. This is a chance to be part of a high‑performing perioperative service where you’ll deliver exceptional care across the entire surgical journey, making a meaningful difference for patients and whānau every day.

You’ll join a close‑knit, supportive multidisciplinary team where your skills and experience are valued and encouraged. Your day‑to‑day work will include pre‑operative assessment and preparation, post‑anaesthetic recovery care, clinical monitoring, discharge coordination, and accurate documentation. Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, this role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a fast‑paced environment and are ready to contribute from day one.

Alongside delivering culturally safe, patient‑centred care, you’ll be involved in quality improvement initiatives and support the growth of colleagues and new team members—helping to foster a collaborative, professional culture focused on learning and continuous improvement in the stunning Central Lakes setting.
