Specialist Engagement Manager

Ormiston Hospital

Ormiston Hospital is a modern private surgical hospital based in Flat Bush, serving the communities of East and South Auckland and patients from across the wider Auckland region. Since opening in 2009, we have continued to grow our specialist services and invest in high-quality care, technology and the experience of our patients and specialists.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

At its heart, this is a relationship role – and we’re looking for an exceptional people person to make it their own. As our Specialist Engagement Manager, you’ll be the key connection between Ormiston and our specialist community. You’ll be highly visible across the hospital and wider healthcare network, building genuine, trusted relationships with specialists, surgeons, GPs, referrers and our hospital teams.

You’ll get to know our specialists, their practices and what matters to them. You’ll understand where there are opportunities to strengthen their relationship with Ormiston, grow their activity, improve their experience and address challenges early. Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who follows through – turning great conversations and ideas into action. Working closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, you’ll play an important role in retaining and growing our existing specialist community while attracting new specialists to Ormiston. Bringing a strong commercial mindset, you’ll identify opportunities for increased activity, new services and stronger referral pathways, using relationships, market intelligence, referral trends and performance insights to inform where we focus our efforts.

You’ll also work closely with Marketing to champion our specialists and services, strengthen engagement with GPs and referrers, develop meaningful CME and networking opportunities, and continue building Ormiston’s presence across the healthcare community. This is a varied, influential and highly visible role for someone who genuinely loves connecting with people, building relationships, opening doors and making things happen. This is a permanent role based at Ormiston Hospital, available at 0.8–1.0 FTE.
