Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and driven Sterile Services Team Leader to join our Sterile Services Department and support excellence in everything we do. This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified Sterile Science Technician who is passionate about quality, safety, and developing a high-performing team.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Sterile Services team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMDs). You’ll play a key role in daily operations—overseeing workflow, coaching and developing team members, and maintaining the high standards essential to a busy surgical environment.
Working closely with theatre and the wider perioperative team, you’ll lead from the front to ensure instruments and equipment are consistently available and ready for surgery. You’ll also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance activities, while promoting best practice in sterilisation technology, infection prevention, and health and safety. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting and enjoy making a real difference through leadership, this role offers a great opportunity to step up and have impact.
