Southern Cross Invercargill Hospital is the southernmost private surgical hospital in the Southern Cross network, it is widely known and used by people throughout the Southland and Queenstown-Wakatipu basin areas.
The hospital features advanced theatre systems, including robotic orthopaedic surgery. Our highly skilled and caring team provide excellent care to 4200 patients per year. Our elective surgical services include Breast; Endoscopy and Gastroenterology; General; Gynaecology; Ophthalmology; Oral and Maxillofacial; Orthopaedic; Ear Nose and Throat; and Urology surgery.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
At Southern Cross Invercargill Hospital, every successful procedure relies on having the right instruments available, sterile, and ready at the right time. As a Sterile Services Technician, you'll be an essential part of the team responsible for making that happen.
Working in our Sterile Services Department, you'll support patient care by cleaning, inspecting, assembling, sterilising and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment used across the hospital. You'll help ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and infection prevention are maintained throughout the reprocessing cycle. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working methodically, values accuracy, and takes pride in contributing to outstanding healthcare outcomes. You'll join a supportive team that works closely together in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is critical.
While previous sterilisation experience is advantageous, we are open to applicants with the right attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Training and development will be provided to help you build your skills and confidence in the role.
This is a part-time permanent position (0.6 FTE) based in our Southern Cross Invercargill Hospital.
